Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Leaf Valley Township, County of Douglas, State of Minnesota, that the Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
In case of inclement weather the election may be postponed until Tuesday March 19, 2024. The Election Poll hours will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at which time the voters will elect:

CLERK 2 YEAR TERM

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing of Leaf Valley Township will meet in the Town Hall, 1540 County Road 6, Garfield, MN, at 9:00 a.m. on May 28, 2022, to review and hear public comments regarding the resurfacing and blacktop project on those portions of Little Ida Beach Road NW and Little Ida Beach Lane NW Situated within the Little Ida Beach Subordinate Service District (SSD).
Such persons as desire to be heard with reference to the proposed project and engineering proposal will be heard at this meeting.
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Leaf Valley Township will hold a special meeting as the Little Ida Beach Subordinate Service District immediately after the public hearing on May 28, 2022 to decide whether to proceed with the road project or wait until the costs decrease.
The engineer's cost estimate is $386,032.40. This cost divided by 68.5 parcels equals $5,636.00 per parcel.

Road Maintenance and Gravel Quote
Leaf Valley Township is seeking quotes for road maintenance and snow removal; quotes for tree trimming, mowing and brush removal, and quotes for approximately 4,000 yards of Class V gravel and application for approximately 36 miles of road; starting about May 01, 2022 for one year.
Quotes should be written on plain paper and submitted to Leaf Valley Township Clerk, Pamela M Cuperus, 2050 Co. Rd. #14 NW, Miltona, MN 56354, by April 13, 2022, or in person at the Leaf Valley Town Hall on April 14, 2022 @ monthly meeting @ 7:00 p.m.
Information on quotes must include description of all equipment to be used and hourly rate for each, price per yard of Class V applied, and Class V certification certificate. A certificate of liability/workmen’s compensation insurance also needs to be attached.
Please indicate “ROAD MAINTENANCE QUOTE” on envelope. The Board of Supervisors maintains the right to accept or reject any or all quotes.

The Board of Appeal and Equalization for the Township of Leaf Valley in Douglas County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9:00 AM at the Town Hall (Sec 21) by appointment only, for the assessment year 2022 (taxes payable 2023). The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property is the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your Assessor's office at (320) 762-3884 to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appeal before the local board of appeal and equalization.
